Girls Dress

Sometimes I have trouble sleeping at night... The reason is, I'm thinking of a new sewing technique to try or gathering my ideas.

Before I started this project I would stay awake, just to make sure that I haven't messed up any material, like i did before. I measure and cut the material carefully and prepare all the tools I need.

Making  a childs dress is a bit more effort for me, than just simple pouch or library bag, so I tried to make as neat and tidy and accurate as I can.

When I looked at the result I felt like it needed some kind of cute decorating, so I made a simple yo-yo with star button on it and a front pocket.

I know this is a summer dress, but why not wear it in winter, on top of long sleeve :). So that's what I did with my daughter.

 I just love those ruffle!!

Reversible bag

It's really difficult to stop buying fabrics, especially when i saw a word call "SALE", no matter how hard to resist :(. Like this Black and red material, i got it for AU $ 5.50 / meter!. I guess this is not 100 cotton, as they a bit stretchy.

I had black polka dot, i bought 3months but i never use it until i found this fabrics, so i decided to make reversible library bag.

So here is the result..

Monday is my favorite day of the week, why? because only on Monday i have to stay at home with my daughter, so i can do my project, hehe... I'm so lucky being full time Mum, don't have to go to work ^_^.

This time i was started to arrange my (emergency) sewing table and stuff, when i saw my green and black polka dot fabric, so i decided to make a library bag, by looking at the picture from the book i borrow from the local library (Simple sewing by Lotta), i began to sew 2 different fabric into 1 bag, with my own measurement :P.

At that time my sewing table was our dinning table, i tried using my computer desk, but it was to low and hurt my bag and neck a lot!. So dinning table was my best option, even thou i need to pack it up again when i finished, which is a pain!.

 It's perfect for casual occasion, made from 100 % lightweight fabric, so i can was it over and over again when it's dirty :)

love the result!, couldn't believe i could make my own bag... ohh.. i don't know what to say but, it's really makes me happy.

I used Velcro for the closure, and added the pocket inside, next time i will make the lining as well.
